Knowledge Graph

The Knowledge Graph is the QPZ’s interactive visualisation tool, displaying all pages in the zoo at their position in the hierarchy, with the following categories in order from top to bottom: Functionalities, Protocols (High-Level and Low-Level), Nodal Subroutines and Physical Resources.

The Knowledge Graph has two modes:

• Cascade Mode (or Top-Down Mode): start at a high level, with either a functionality or a protocol, and explore its entire hierarchy. Select a functionality to see all the protocols that implement it and the layers beneath it. Or pick a protocol to see its components, plus the functionality it implements. In this mode, only one node can be selected at a time.
• Resource Mode (or Shopping Mode): Imagine you have a specific set of physical resources in your lab and want to know what quantum protocols you can run. In this mode, you select a combination of resources and nodal subroutines, and the graph shows you which protocols you can build with them.

In both modes, clicking on a previously selected node undoes this selection, and clicking anywhere on the background undoes all selections and resets the graph to the original state.

Any pages added to the Quantum Protocol Zoo will also automatically appear in the Knowledge Graph if the are connected to any other node. To add or edit connections in the Knowledge Graph, refer to the “Edit Connections” section present in each Protocol and Nodal Subroutine page.
